Samsung GALAXY S5 – Official Introduction – Hands on Experience

I found only few things interesting and innovative with Samsung Galaxy S5.

1. Focus on object while taking photo so rest area become blurred. This is a kind of inclusion of professional photography feeling and 16 MP camera is just break throw.

2. They have copied sensor method from Apple. That’s good for phone security so Android lovers don’t have to shift to Apple.

3. Battery saving plan is quite innovative one. You can watch in video.

4. 432 DPI makes graphics so reach.

5. Video and picture quality is really great.

6. Gaming experience is going to be totally thrilling.

7. It has also a device attached near to camera which helps in counting your heart rate.

Although I liked the capabilities and multi-tasking attempt made by Samsung through Android Mobile OS. And there are many things to love about Samsung smart phones like Voice command, multi-tasking, HD recordings, robust OS, Scalable with tons of App, ocean of Apps and list continues on and on…

I did not like few things which makes me annoyed but most important thing is how come they missed such important functionality or user experience at all.

I am, and not me only, but most of young techies are app lovers so I got more than 50 app install in my device. Now when I want to search a particular app for the time being I could not locate it immediately rather I have to view one after another and locate them. Unlike Blackberry z10, iPhone, you can search the name and related to that whatever is there in phone comes up but Samsung did not think it would be a life/time saver at all.

One more important point which I noticed about phone hanging and it could not load my mails as I have several accounts and thousands of mails in each box. So looks like it could not sustain the load my emails.

Next to Voice command, it sucks, does not work all time or you have to speak so louder or you have to mute the rings of phone to answer/reject a call. People find you crazy while shouting to instruct a phone rather tap it and do what you want. So just for putting wider choice or marketing distinct methods you can not bring functionalities which are tough to use and we need to research percentage wise users using these features.

I have been using iPhone, Blackberry old version to Z10 and now Samsung hence these are genuine feedback from a real user.

Anyway so no product is perfect, something here and their keep people engaging with particular smart phones based on their requirements but I still feel Blackberry Z10 was a great phone in terms of usability for techies but difficult for layman.

So only option which is left for wider audience without knowing more technical details even a kid can use iPhone, iPad because of its simplicity. So Steve jobs rocks for his simplicity in designing a product which is so easy and convenient to use for wider mass of people. Choice is yours but these are my feedback about Samsung and rest of the top smart phones.

Chennai – Santragachi express – holiday special train (08042) – Never ever try this train

Folks, never ever try this holiday special train (Chennai – Santragachi Express 08042). Although this train runs only for limited months Oct to Dec each year. Until it is really required to travel otherwise never try this train. For namesake this train runs for this route, I intend to write this post to let people know in case you are travelling first time with this train then never expect it to be on time. Expect the worst to make you happy. There is least priority given to this train en-route, you will observe all trains passing by and this train (08042) will stand by.

Chennai Santragachi puja special super fast train

Last time, I traveled through this train was late by 10 hrs. I had to cancel many further tickets and many travelers were suffered with further journey ticket cancellation. So just keep in mind, if you travel with this train keep 10-12 hrs buffer time in your hand and not plan anything between those delayed hrs.

Well, apart from timings, I would like to talk about amenities, very poor maintenance not worth of paying the cost what you pay. Even though it had all AC coach but AC went off many times for hours and it came back for sure but it was pathetic journey in my life. I would never choose to travel through this train rather plan in advance and choose some other train. I would grade this train service to very very poor.

My request to Indian Railway, when you charge for super fast and same fare as other important train then you should maintain the same level of service otherwise you should not run such special train. Crazy, pathetic, incompetent, low grade service.

NEVER EVER TRAVEL IN THIS TRAIN….

Google Malaysia site is hacked by Pakistani Hackers TeaM MADLEETS

Google Malaysia Site is hacked today i.e. 11 Oct 2013, by Pakistani Hackers Team Madleets. Please try to open site http://google.com.my/, you will find out hacked page served by Hackers.

It is a case of DNS hack so there is no information on hacking Google server. Do you think these hackers wanted to bring focus of world to them? I think they can apply their skill in constructive way than example like this. That’s funny, if they apply their talent in constructive way then they won’t be a hacker.

We need to see when Google is able to restore his Malaysian cTLD.

CII Connect 2013 on ICT, Social, Media, Analytics, Cloud

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) connect was organised very professionally with many Industry veteran entrepreneurs, Vice chairman, Chairman, CEO, managing director from many companies as few of them were from Google, TCS, CTS, VIT University, IBM,KPMG, Intel India, Mindtree, Accenture, Airtel and so on…

key Takeaways of ICT Connect:

1. Government of Tamilnadu had given full support to CII as few Ministers and Secretary of Tamilnadu government were present and narrated the scope of IT sector in Tamilnadu and the progress so far.

2. Mr M F Farooqui IAS (Secretary – Department of Telecom – Government of India) – explained about new project where central government is working on project to lay down fiber optical cable throughout India till villages which will bring greater level of accessibility and fiber optical cable can carry data, voice which will be very useful in connecting India. Project cost is around 25k crore.

3. Main topic/theme of connect was SMAC (Social, Mobile, Analytics, Cloud) and ICT (Information, Communication, Technology).

4. Google India Managing Director Rajan Anandan presented very nice presentation on where India is as of 2013. Few points were interesting as we are 6 yrs behind China in terms of internet users and e-com transaction. 65% people in India will use mobile phone for their primary Internet usage by 2015. So far in India has 150M Internet users etc.

5. Sustainability was another topic around SMAC, ICT.

6. Today Innovation or Entrepreneurship is easy as cost of opening new start up has reduced to 90%, thanks to cloud technology and open source.

7. Lakshmi Narayanan (VC of CTS) – Stressed point on Research program organised by University as universities abroad has more than $5 B fund safeguard for R & D program. Also open course initiatives started by few University abroad.

All over it was good including exhibition, companies were showcasing their new products and they were quite informative. I remember still one product of Intel showcasing electric consumption monitoring system. You can monitor electric consumption in different bay/floor area. That was innovative and pretty cool if you plan to save electricity bill for your company. Many companies are investing in mobile app or they had pretty cool products as TCS has built POS and CTS Social Intranet portal and some other company had CRM, HRM on mob device.

Samsung Launches Galaxy Note 3 in India for Rs 49,900

Samsung launches Note 3 for Rs 49,900 and Galaxy smartwatch for Rs 22,990 in India.

Price seems very competitive but it deserves in the way what it gives back to you and how you can organise your life and rely yourself on Note 3 Device. Samsung has been very innovative for past few years, they had breakthrough innovation as no other digital device company could match to the level of Samsung.

They claim their smartwatch/gear will work with all types of samsung galaxy phones which is going to cost another 22k. Seem costly to have another gadget on your hand but big question comes here, will smartwatch can attract corporate users. Will you not want to wear your desired watch than wearing samsung smartwatch??? User acceptability test will be there soon as product is slowly getting in market.

Bad Bargain deal:

I did not like the idea of increasing screen size to 5.7Inches which they try to compensate with Gear but it is difficult for people to carry both together as there is more chance to forge Gear. Note 2 with 5.5 Inches itself was larger look so this doesn’t get into my head why they even thought to increase dimension. I will not accept that as innovation and this is biggest mistake Samsung does as they play with product in anyway, there is no constant move. Gear is not standalone smartwatch rather it is depending on Galaxy to work on top of it. More reviews as we explore.

TV (LED, LCD, Plasma) – Importing is no more savings deal for individuals.

No more cost saving deal while importing TV from other country.

Importing TV(LED, LCD, Plasma) is no more a cheaper solution while coming from abroad as Govt. is very proactive on recession which is causing economy slowdown in country. Looks like government wants to restrict import of TV as when you pay same cost as in India then you will never try to bring them from abroad.
